We seek to understand how plants sense temperature, and with this knowledge breed crops resilient to climate change.

Recent highlights include the discovery of the first thermosensor in plants, a co-discovery with the group of Jorge Casal.

Put another way, we’ve just lived through the hottest year ever measured, yet we have very little understanding of how increasing temperatures will impact wild plants and crops at a mechanistic level. Since plants are the starting point of virtually all food chains, there are likely to be wider consequences. Join us, and be part of the solution.
